BIOGRAPHY

     Chris Armbrister hails from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia & his career has taken him from coast to coast, and across the Atlantic, as an actor, director, writer, fight choreographer & producer.  Chris is the Artistic Director for the internationally acclaimed Stagedoor Manor in NY (subject of films, books & numerous magazine articles) … where he is celebrating his 25th year collaborating with an amazing group of people. Chris is also the producer & artistic director for Thin Air Theatre Company…building the company’s reputation to a nationally recognized level as a small regional professional theatre by producing both original plays & some of Broadway’s greatest hits. 

     Over the years Chris has enjoyed freelance directing at theaters like Orlando Repertory Theatre (FL), Sierra Repertory Theatre (CA) & Priscilla Beach Theatre outside Boston.  Favorite Directing credits include… Les Miserables;  Laramie Project;  Comedy of Errors;  The Toxic Avenger;  The Last 5 Years;  &  Young Frankenstein for which he received a BroadwayWorld Award for Best Direction & Best Musical (Denver Region).

     Chris holds an MFA in Theatre from the University of Alabama & is a member of East Tennessee State University’s Alumni Hall of Fame for his “Contributions to the Development of Theatre in America” as founding producer for Thin Air Theatre Company, East Tennessee Children’s Theatre and Vision Factory (in Los Angeles).  Chris’ motto has always been Dare To Dream and considers himself to have been very fortunate in life and knows his #1 blessing to be his amazing wife Glenda…like The Good Witch!
